Select Physical Therapy - Monrovia

My doctor prescribed vesticular therapy for my dizziness and balance problem. I had to use a cane to keep from falling while walking. The doctor referred me to Select Physical Therapy. I chose to go to the nearest location in Monrovia. In my first appointment, on May 7, 2025, I was assigned to Hannah Encinias, their vesticular therapist who has a doctorate in Physical Therapy. In my first session, I was evaluated by Hannah. I was prescribed exercises to do at home and more challenging exercises in the weekly sessions. After just two weeks of therapy, my dizziness was gone. John Paulo Dionisio, an intern in Hannah's team was assigned to me under Hannah's expert supervision. John gave me challenging exercises but also listened when I say it's too difficult and at the same time encouraging me to try. Through John's support and encouragement, I was feeling "normal" again in my 6th week. June 25th was my last session of therapy. I want to give my thanks to Hannah for her expert guidance, and to John for his care, encouragement and support in my healing journey. John showed genuine concern in my situation as an 80 year old living alone. I am so happy to be well enough to keep my independence.

We have been coming to Select PT in Monrovia for quite some time now. The first person we met was Tara M. She is a Patient Service Specialist who is literally perfect at her job! She is so very kind, a good listener, patient and very knowledgeable about the workings of the office. We had a problem with our insurance, and she persevered through it all to get everything taken care of successfully. We look forward to seeing her happy face each visit and know we’re in good hands. Sincerely, A Ward Thomas Liu is our OT. We followed him from another facility because of his expertise, knowledge, kindness and success that my husband has had with him after recovering from a broken neck and two surgeries. He’s the best! We’d highly recommend him to anyone! He’s professional, skillful and cares about his patients. We’re pleased with every visit we’ve had with Thomas and will be coming for more visits. Brian is hands down the best physical therapist! 🌟 His expertise and personalized approach made my sessions incredibly effective. He's friendly, supportive, and knows how to make PT feel like a breeze. The results speak for themselves – I had knee surgery back in August and I feel great. The Select Physical Therapy team is exceptional! They staff is friendly and very helpful. I have been dealing with a chronic knee issue for several month now. With Olivia and Brian's guidance my condition has already improved after just a few treaments. I highly recomend Select Physical Therapy !

I've had an excellent experience at Select Physical Therapy in Monrovia. From the friendly check-in staff to the knowledgeable therapists, everyone has been incredibly helpful and supportive. My therapist, Brian Briones, has been particularly outstanding. He’s patient, explains each exercise clearly, and makes me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. Even the student trainees have been a valuable asset, providing additional support and learning opportunities. Ashley is such an amazing PT. She really listens to you and any concerns you have. She’s patient and really cares about you and your recovery. Also my favorite thing is you can also “chat” with your therapist regarding questions on your exercise plan which I really appreciate and she responds fast.

I had a great experience working with Thomas during my recovery from a broken wrist. He was both personable and professional, creating a comfortable environment throughout my therapy. The exercises he guided me through were effective and played a key role in my recovery. I’m very grateful for his support and expertise!

I highly recommend Thomas Liu as an occupational therapist. I came to select physical therapy with stiff and painful right arm due to a horseback riding accident. I broke my right elbow and right wrist from the accident and also suffered ulnar and radial nerve palsy. Before coming to Thomas, I received occupational therapy at another facility. I did not see much result from that facility and on top of that the therapist was not encouraging and knowledgeable. I felt very hopeless and felt like I will never be able to get back to "normal" ever again. I was very lucky to have been referred to select physical therapy and for receiving my treatment with Thomas. Thomas was very knowledgeable, passionate, sympathetic and enjoyable to work with! I started getting my motion back by working with him twice a week. He is very observant therefore, he helps me explain the pain and my struggle in performing certain tasks that I sometimes cannot articulate. This is very helpful as the injury was very emotionally taxing. I think Thomas' educational background and personality is perfect for an occupational therapist. I missed working with him and hope to return to his care after my extended vacation. Thomas I hope you are reading this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart :)

Good communication, professional therapy. All staff are friendly and nice. Olivia, Hallie, and the front desk lady are very helpful. The environment is clean and nice. Recommend. Especially, Hallie is excellent!

I was referred by my doctor & cannot thank Hannah enough for everything she has done for me throughout my pregnancy. I met Hannah when I was 15 weeks pregnant, and now at 37 weeks, she has helped me so much with the sciatic nerve pain and lower back pain I experienced during my pregnancy. From the moment I walked into her office, she always made me feel comfortable, supported, and understood. She took the time to teach me stretches and movements that truly helped ease my pain, and I was able to continue using them at home and even while working throughout my pregnancy. Hannah is incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and wonderful at what she does. As a first-time mom, she taught me so much about how important it is to keep moving your body during pregnancy and how to properly care for yourself physically. Every session with her was such a positive experience, and I always left feeling better and more confident. Thank you, Hannah, for every month-to-month experience and for helping me through such an important part of my life. I truly appreciate all your care, kindness, and support.
